1. Dimensions and Weight

2000 watt inverter generators are designed to pack a punch while being lightweight and highly portable. They should be easy to take with you wherever you go, should that be camping, to a work site or tailgating. So just how big are these generators?

With such a negligible difference, round one is a draw.

2. Power

Lets face it, a generator is used for power. So this an important factor in the Yamaha EF2000IS vs Honda EU2000I comparison. 

Both generators produce the same level of power at 2000 maximum watts (16.7 amps) and 1600 running watts (13.3 amps). Both inverter generators have the benefit of producing clean power. The process of inverting direct current to alternating current produces what’s known as a true sine wave. 5. Fuel consumption

Other than noise and of course price, one of the most important factors when comparing generators is their fuel consumption. You want to have the most fuel efficient inverter generator possible. If one generator uses dramatically more fuel than the other it makes the decision pretty easy. Both are efficient generators, capable of altering their engine speed to match the power demands you require. This allows for both to have high fuel efficiency.

6. Operation

All the different specifications are important, but you also want an inverter generator that’s easy to operate. You want an easy start every time and minimal maintenance.

Both models use a very reliable manual pulling recoil start. Both also have low oil level warnings and overload protection. This means maintenance is made easy because you know when to replace the oils and you don’t have to worry about damaging the generator due to overload. Finally, both are also capable of being configured with a second matching model in parallel. This means you can double your output very easily. What could be more convenient than that?

7. Price

Being inverter generators, both these models are more expensive than a power comparative portable generator. However, this is due to the many benefits that they have over portable generators.

With almost identical specifications, there is no clear favorite between these two generators. Indeed a debate has raged for years as to which is the better choice.
